Maths Activities

Senior Infants have been measuring things around the classroom using cubes and lollipop sticks. This picture shows a game that Senior Infants played in pairs. They take turns to roll the dice and each time they roll a number they added that number to their cubes. The first person to get to the end of the string wins!

Senior Infants and First Class just love to play with the Maths toys in the classroom. Here they are matching the picture underneath by picking the correct shapes and colours.

Playing with cubes! Making creatures from the cubes and other shapes in the classroom is great fun!

St. Patrick's Day Badges

For St. Patrick's Day we coloured in shamrocks and put green glitter on them. We cut them out. When they had been laminated we stuck pins on the back. They made great St. Patrick's Day badges!

Science: Mixing Colours

We had fun mixing paint! We mixed the colours yellow, red, blue and white different ways to make different colours. This picture shows how we mixed the colours by putting them in plastic bags and making sure they were closed tight! Then we mushed the 2 colours together.

Rainbow Fish

We read 'The Rainbow Fish' by Marcus Pfister and for Art we made some Rainbow Fish out of CD disks. We painted a background of the sea for our fish. They sparkle like the Rainbow Fish in the story, especially in the sun!
